Perfect Game In August 2008

The Perfect Game is a an upcoming movie about a group of boys from Monterrey, Mexico, who became the first non-U.S. team to win the Little League World Series, a baseball tournament for children aged 11, 12 and 13 years old. The Perfect Game is based on a true story: a Mexican team won in 1957, indeed. It shall be released in early August 2008.

Here below an early teaser poster of the Perfect Game:

The Perfect Game
Nine boys, against all odds, world champions

Plot:
"In 1957, a barefooted, rag-tag team of boys from poverty-stricken Monterrey, Mexico defy extraordinary odds to become the first foreign team to win Little League World Series - doing so in a perfect game, the only one in championship history. Based on a true story, "The Perfect Game" tells the tale of how their miracle changed not only their lives, but an entire city's destiny." (Source: Wikipedia)

Perfect Game is actually a remake: a Mexican film "Los Pequeños Gigantes" (Little Giants), with the original baseball players in their own roles, was released in 1960.
But the Mexican movie did not perform well in theaters, nonetheless, a few years later it was quite welcomed when NBC broadcasted the flick under the new title of "How Tall is a Giant?" on TV.

Will the Perfect Game remake movie succeed where the original movie failed? Will it transform into a box office success? Time will tell.
:)
